This is a tad late, but if you received a chain letter in the mail back in the ’80s containing a secret cookie recipe from Mrs. Fields, it’s a fake. Thanks, Wikipedia (sigh). The upside is that if you can’t make your own knockoff cookies, you can buy some real cookies, AND buy them in some very nicely designed tins! How’s that for segue?
Mrs. Fields Famous Brands is one of the largest retailers of cookies in America, boasting nearly 400 stores nationwide. I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to contribute ongoing design work to this delicious cookie brand, and what follows below is a sampling of the first batch of tins to be printed.
Our themes for this spring set were: graduation, Mother’s Day and spring, itself. My thought for graduation was to create a package that was reminiscent of a chalkboard and I was directed to create a loose wreath for the Mother’s Day design. My roles working on these pieces: concept, design, minimal illustration and production before handing off to the client.
